Today i am going to share a easy trick about how to Add, Backup and restore your T9 dictionary words from Htc Diamond and Tuch Pro. I needed to hard reset my pocket pc. I saved my custom words before hard reset using this trick. You can backup T9 added words from your device in 2 ways. you can backup T9 dictionary words manually or you can use a small backup Utility. Here are the Ways:

Manual Method:

At first open your file explorer and go to windows directory on you Htc device. Then copy the following files from your windows directory to another location on your pocket pc:
\Windows\eT9Cdb.Cdb
\Windows\eT9Rudb.Rdb
\Windows\eT9AsDb.Adb

To restore copy and replace the files on windows directory after hard reset.

Using T9MyWords Tools:

I got a small utility from xda developers to Add, Delete and Backup T9 words. Touch Pro users do not need to install this as the same program is already found in Windows folder. It can be triggered by “FN”+”space” button. You can add and delete words into the dictionary and it works instantly. At first download and extract the program to your windows mobile Device. And tap on eT9MyWords.exe to start the program. Now select text in T9MyWords > copy > paste into a text file > save the text file in a save location (e.g. Sync Folder “My Documents” or Internal Storage).

After flashing a new ROM: select text in the text file > copy > paste into T9MyWords

Download the Utility from Here :  eT9MyWords

  1. I have a HTC Touch Pro. I tried the FN + Space and whalla! T9 mispelled words are gone! Thanks so much for the help!!! Is there a place to go to find out more tips and tricks for my phone? It would really help as my smartphone is only as smart as its user. 🙂 Thanks again!

  2. I ran eT9MyWords.exe, but I’m not able to “select all” to do “copy” and paste to backup text file. I can only select one entry at a time.
Also, not sure how you can paste text into the app. All I can do is select “add” and then manually add an entry.
To be honest, what I really need is a way to add a bulk of words in Hebrew into the dictionary.
Finally: as far as I can see, eT9Cdb.Cdb is locked and cannot be replaced.
